Oh, Btw, Happy Birthday.

Jonathan Harker,  South Africa 18/07/2011 13:51

Hi Leon

I was born in and raised in Heideveld in Cape Town, I'm hoping you know where that is LOL.

I was fortunate to see you perform in Snt. Georges cathedral a few years ago, sadly it was at a memorial concert in honour of one of your mentors.

Your musical ability and the fact that you were from "Lavis" (at least thats what I've been told) inspired me to try playing a classical instrument. I am now preparing for my grade 4 cello exam. :D

You are an amazing musician and are inspiring people with your talent. I hope to see you perform in South africa again soon.

May good fortune smile on you.

Leon, Have a great time at the music festival in Stellenbosch Cape Town, and have a FABULOUS 50th birthday bash while there on the 7th July! ( Do send us the newspaper links to the concert reviews, )

Best wishes and safe travels,
Isadore

Yes, Leon made the instrument really sing on Thursday at St. John's; all the more impressive in that he currently cannot play his favourite bass as it's in bass hospital. Bravo!

HI Leon - I learnt about you from Peter Martens, with whom I'm developing an inspirational project called Quartet of Peace (visit www.violinafrica.co.za).

There are no superlatives to describe the feeling of joy and upliftment I received from navigating your website and learning a little about you, your amazing music and creative output. Your statement on the biography page blew me away into the firmament of sublime humility in the face of your sound...

I look forward to catching you in concert, and perhaps one day meeting you in person (I am South African too).

With warmest wishes

Eugene Skeef

So many things to say, Leon. One day, perhaps, we'll meet. And, of course, I'd love to see and hear a live performance. Thanks for the insight, inspiration and guidance your life and playing has presented. Keep the faith, bro. Music is eternal.
